It would be helpful to realise what made us so energetic during our childhood. Obviously we learnt something as we grew up and this made us loose our mental energy as adults. What we now need to aim for is to go through a process of unlearning and give up some of the things we do so that we can be energetic again.

What can you say about the notion that “the children have a lot of energy because they do and say what they want therefore their energy neither blocked nor wasted”?
It is a fact that children have a lot of energy and usually tire out the adults while playing. This energy refers to the metabolic energy that the physical body produces by burning glucose. This energy depends on the right diet, proper amount of sleep and physical fitness. Children usually get all three better than adults because they don’t have anything to do other than just grow up. Whereas adults are preoccupied by everything other than their own body and mind to bother much about diet, sleep or fitness. This may be the reason why children have lot of physical energy. The question refers to energy not being blocked and this energy is not the same as the metabolic energy of the physical body. This is the flow of electromagnetic earth energy and cosmic energy through our energy body. Our whole body is much larger than the physical body that is perceived by our physical senses. Our energy body has five layers as explained in the article linked below. When we are born only the limbic mind is active during the infant stage. The Emotional mind starts becoming active during the toddler years and stays predominantly active until the teen years. The Logical mind starts becoming active and takes control from the teen years onwards. The energy that glows in an infant’s face and makes us joyful just to be in the presence of a little baby is the pure energy of radiance, joy and gratitude that comes out of being alive. At the core this is our basic nature. As the logical mind becomes active, humans start living predominantly in their thinking-mind. The energy vibrations of our emotion mingled thoughts form a cloud that obscures the inner radiance from shining through. On the physical level, our mental activity also consumes most of our metabolic energy leaving us feeling tired all the time. Most of the mental activity is cyclic or repetitive thinking and can be seen as wasted energy. It is true that Children do not waste any energy due to unnecessary mental activity. Children do and say what they want because of their unobscured inner radiance shining through and not the other way round. Great saints and realised humans are also the same, childlike. When I am free, many questions come in my mind, is it harmful for health?
Conscious mental activity that we do include planning, working, calculating, computing, watching something (videos) listening to something (such as podcasts), reading, studying, focusing, concentrating, paying attention, etc. When we don’t do any of these activities we assume that we are free. But this is not true. Our mind is never free. We are stuck with a habit of remaining engaged with mental activity all the time. These include the monologues in our mind with ourselves, the dialogues we carry out mentally with an imaginary person, the voices of others in our mind telling us what not to do, memories of past events, worries about the future, fantasising, imagining, dreaming, etc. We are habituated to this and so it seems to be happening effortlessly and automatically, although we are doing it. We don’t know how to stop it. In my opinion this habit of constantly living in our minds is the primary cause for all suffering and pain afflicting the entire humanity.
