Meditation is a practice to rest our thinking mind because sleep doesn’t completely rest and rejuvenate our mind. When we shift from our thinking mind to our aware mind we allow healing to happen spontaneously.
Apart from sitting quietly with closed eyes, there are other more effective ways to quieten our minds and heal. This practice is also called mindfulness or a journey in to awareness. There are innumerable scientific studies and research publications on this.
